You. Can. Do. This. Fake it ’til ya make it, baby!

It’s beautiful and warm here in Michigan! Wow. I’ve made it a point to get outside every day—have you? What’s your favorite activity to do outside when it’s nice like this? I like to take a long walk around the neighborhoods, look at the houses, watch the little kids play and hear them laugh, and sometimes I’ll be on my phone, catching up with one of my friends or siblings as I meander. It’s so relaxing! That’s what fresh air does to you. If you don’t get outside every day… Why? Kids? Take them outside. Too busy? Everyone needs a break, even if it’s for 10 minutes.

No more miss nice lady here, there are no excuses to not being able to do 5-15 minutes of exercise. Make it a point to get outside today and MOVE! Remember there are 24 hours in the day and one 60-minute sweaty workout isn’t going to get you the “body of your dreams”—you need to be constantly moving and doing something physical. And no, desk jobs aren’t a good excuse; you have permission to get up and walk the halls or stairs or do squats every hour for 2 minutes.

So. Do you find yourself complaining that you’re not in shape but don’t have money for a gym, trainer, treadmill, etc.? Yeah, I’m sorry, but you can stop that now. Not only have I posted a few workouts (here’s one) to do at home with little or no equipment, but the Internet (Google, workout/health magazines’ websites, YouTube, BodyRockTV, etc.) is FULL of free workouts that you can do at home. So what are you waiting for? Try this one. Stop whining and start working. Now. You can do it.

Now… the eating part. Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. Do you eat a lot? Find yourself eating a lot? I do, too. It’s an emotional thing, often, but overeating is not healthy or safe. Read this: “Confessions of an Food Addict” – I think it’s interesting and helps shed some light on food addiction and how to work toward getting over it.
